No! Sleep! Till Brooklyn!

Dear Baby Boozle,
Your dad and i go around singing that song because it seems like you hate sleeping. You are constantly fighting me when we all know how extremely tired you are. I'll put you in the bed, feed you, hold you, carry you and walk around...nothing. All i get is tired and you're still ready to party. And then, you're asleep. Sometimes the battle lasts 20 min, sometimes 2 hours. In an instant, you're out. Stop fighting it and go to sleep!

Then, there you are, fast asleep, looking so peaceful and beautiful, and all i can do is laugh. I love you so much. NOW GO TO SLEEP!

Love,
Mommy Boozle

Watch the Throne

Dear Baby Boozle,

Listen here princess, why do you hate your car seat?  As soon as I get you in your car seat, you start screaming.  Trying to get you strapped in is hell.  You're screaming and wiggling and driving me crazy.  If you're tired, you usually fall asleep in a matter of minutes but still crying until you finally do.  Otherwise the entire ride to our destination is you screaming and me yelling back trying to calm you down.

But it appears as though I might have found the secret to keeping you quite.  Apparently "Ni**as in Paris" by Jay-Z and Kanye West soothes you.  I couldn't believe it first, I was just playing the CD to drown you out (that sounds horrible but I do love you, but like I said you're driving me crazy) and you just stopped crying.  I thought you had fallen asleep but you were wide awake just enjoying the song.

Your dad says I need to put some country music on to soothe you, otherwise I'm ruining you.  I'll slowly start trying new music to see what works.  But until you start realizing what the lyrics are to the songs on "Watch the Throne," we'll be quietly rocking out on our way to the grocery store.

Ball so hard,
Mommy Boozle

Almost...

Dear Baby Boozle,

You have been in my belly for 35 weeks now.  5 more weeks to go!  We are both very healthy.  You are already in position and the doctor says if I start going into labor at anytime now, they're not going to stop you.  So...wait, okay?  I still need to get some stuff ready for you.  Although it would be nice to no longer have you use my bladder as a pillow, and daddy and I want to meet you soooo bad but we all have to be patient and wait for you to be ready.  We talk about you every day.  You are being named after daddy's grandma , your Grandpa Short's mom, both have passed but you will hear so many wonderful stories about them!  See you soon!

Love,
Mommy Boozle

Baby Shower

Dear Baby Boozle,

We survived your baby shower!  It was a hectic week leading up to it.  Daddy and Tio Chomps made the house and your room look amazing.  We recieved lots of presents and everyone is so excited to meet you.  We survived the day and barely made it through the late night.  The next day you, your dad and I just hid in the house, on the couch and did nothing.  Even you, super kung fu master in my belly, kept pretty still for the next couple of days.

Love,
Mommy Boozle

Kicking

Dear Baby Boozle,

You are so active in my belly now.  On Easter morning, I placed your daddy's hand on my belly so he could feel you.  You get so excited when you hear his voice, he started talking and you went crazy.  You started kicking his hand, a lot.  He was so happy and told everyone who would listen about it.

Last night Grandma Karin got to feel you kick.  You've kicked Tia Nancy and your cousin Sammie.  Sammie was so surprised to feel you.  Nancy says that everytime they go shopping Sammie wants to buy something for you.  They had gone clothes shopping for Sammie this weekend and ended up bringing a bag full of clothes for you.  You still haven't kicked Bella yet, she's tried a couple of times but you stop as soon as her hand goes on my belly.

It had been a bit overwhelming at first to not only adjust to you being in my belly but also not having a job and your dad having to work twice as hard to make up for my lost income.  Feeling you tumble and kick has made it so much more real.  We are so excited to meet you!

Love,
Mommy Boozle

Hey baby boozle

Dear Baby Boozle,

It's so hard to be excited about your arrival when the world keeps smacking your dad and me in the face.  You were planned and made with a lot of love.  There is a saying "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans."  We thought we had all our ducks in a row.  You've been in my belly for 5 months and everything with the outside world has been a constant struggle.  You've been great, just hungry all the time.  We are happy you are on your way.  I'll fill you in on all the battles we have encountered another day as I have many to overcome today.

Love you,
Mommy Boozle
